Silicone oil, also known as polysiloxane, belongs to the high molecular polymer.Silicone oil began to be used in cosmetics in 1950, and it developed rapidly in cosmetics after 1970.Cosmetics containing silicone oil have the following characteristics: good lubricity, uniform waterproof protective film on the skin, no greasy sticky feeling, good luster;Good anti-ultraviolet radiation performance, under the action of ultraviolet radiation will not oxidize metamorphism, cause skin irritation;Antistatic performance is good.E and dustproof effect is good, good air permeability, no effect on perspiration after film formation, good stability, chemical inertia and supporting performance.

Silicone oil is a kind of polysiloxane with different polymeric chain structure. It is a kind of organic silicon product with many varieties and wide application range.According to the different types of substituents in polysiloxane chains.Silicone oil can be divided into methyl silicone oil, hydrogen silicone oil, vinyl silicone oil and polyether modified silicone oil, phenyl silicone oil, hydroxyl silicone oil, fluorosilicone oil, amino silicone oil, ethyl silicone oil and so on.

Due to the different substituents, there are a wide variety of silicone oils, showing different boiling points and decomposition temperatures, such as boiling point, some over 100 degrees, some over 300 degrees. The decomposition temperature of silicone oil is above 300 ° C, up to 500 ° C.The product of silicon oil decomposition at high temperature is silicon dioxide (SiO 2).

Based on the above analysis, if the volatile organic compound contains silicone oil, then even a small amount of silicone oil brought into the catalyst could theoretically have the following effect.1. If the boiling point of silicone oil is very high, the decomposition temperature is also very high, then it will directly adhere to the surface of the catalyst, resulting in catalyst deactivation;2. If the boiling point of silicon oil is low, the decomposition of silicon dioxide occurs at the catalytic temperature, which has little impact on the catalyst.Whether VOCs catalysts can promote the decomposition of silicone oil has not been reported.

Due to the high boiling point of silicon oil, it is difficult to adsorb on the surface of activated carbon, which has little influence on the subsequent catalytic combustion.
